NorthRiver Yacht Club

NorthRiver Yacht Club, located on the banks of Lake Tuscaloosa in Tuscaloosa, Alabama and less than a 12-mile drive to the University of Alabama, is recognized as a premier golf and country club in the Tuscaloosa, West Alabama, and even southeastern region. In 1978, the original Gary Player-designed course opened. Mr. Player routed the championship, 18 hole, par 71 course through the rolling hills that grace the community called NorthRiver. After the course was updated in 1999 by Bob Cupp, it was again renovated in 2016 by Bob Cupp, changing from bent grass greens to Tiff Eagle Bermuda grass plus reconstruction of all bunkers. Today, NorthRiver’s course is suitable for every category of player from accomplished to novice. To allow both mental and physical preparation, NorthRiver offers meticulously maintained practice areas, outstanding professional instruction, an extraordinary pro shop, and support for tournament-style play. Members, and guests of The Jack Warner Inn at NorthRiver, also enjoy a state of the art tennis facility featuring 11 lighted courts, an Olympic-sized pool open seasonally from Memorial Day to Labor Day (or beyond), indoor/outdoor heated pool open year around, Fitness Center, massage therapy, lakeside dining and event venue named the Captain’s Cabin, a 97-wet slip marina, Kids Club, and countless special event and meeting spaces that can accommodate groups of 10 to well over 500.
