Continues European Expansion in the Algarve Region of Portugal

Scottsdale, Ariz. - Oceānico Group, one of the leading and fastest growing developers of luxury resorts in the Algarve region of Portugal has appointed Troon Golf,® the leader in upscale golf course management, development and marketing to manage operations at Amendoeira Golf Resort. Located in the district of Silves, in the western Algarve only 35 minutes from Faro, this Nick Faldo design is a welcome addition to what is becoming one of Europe's most popular golfing destinations.

The Amendoeira Resort will incorporate two 18-hole courses and a PGA Golf Academy alongside luxury accommodations and leisure facilities. Set in an area of outstanding natural beauty, the course will feature the beautiful backdrop of the Monchique Mountains. From rolling hills to the verdant valley of almond, olive, and carob trees, the area is home to an abundance of flora and fauna, including more than 50 species of birds.

"We are thrilled to be expanding our relationship with the Oceānico Group," stated Troon Golf Managing Director, Europe, Middle East and Africa, Bruce Glasco. "Amendoeira Golf Resort will offer visitors an exceptional golf experience with superb course conditions and outstanding service."

The Faldo course, a Nick Faldo design, is situated on a hillside and features rocky outcrops and meandering water features. Additionally, scenic views of the distant mountains and orange groves greet golfers at each of the 18 holes. The second course, the O'Connor Course is designed by Christy O'Connor Jr. and complements the Faldo Course while taking advantage of its situation in the valley. Large bodies of water will require accuracy and will test players throughout the round.

Simon Burgess, director of Oceānico Developments, said: "Amendoeira is designed to be one of Europe's finest five-star golf resorts, with the two courses offering superb golf and facilities. To build on this we wanted to ensure the overall experience exceeds expectations and the key to this is working with a management company that has the expertise to set the highest standards in everything from green quality to the dining experience. Troon Golf is second to none in the service and enthusiasm it delivers to its resorts, and combined with the quality of our developments Amendoeira will offer a world-class experience."

The Golf clubhouse, reflecting the influence of Moorish architecture, will feature a greenside bar and café, restaurant, banquet facilities, fully stocked golf shop, luxurious men's and women's locker rooms and state of the art golf academy. The luxury properties at the resort will encompass a mix of apartments and three, four and five bedroom villas, all set around the village center.
