Alpine Country Club Hosts Tony Finau Foundation Golf Classic

Highland, Utah (September 17, 2018) – Alpine Country Club recently hosted the Tony Finau Foundation Golf Classic presented by PING. The Golf Classic was played less than 24 hours after Finau was named to his first Ryder Cup Team by American Ryder Cup Captain Jim Furyk. The celebrity golf event raised nearly $150,000 for underprivileged children and included fellow PGA TOUR professionals Cameron Champ (winner of July’s Utah Championship) and Ryder Cup Vice-Captain Zach Johnson. In total, more than 150 golfers teed it up for charity.

Finau, a Salt Lake City native, has been a member at Alpine Country Club, located approximately 30 miles south of Salt Lake City in Highland, since 2015. The Tony Finau Foundation Golf Classic is now in its fourth year and has been held at Alpine Country Club since 2016.

“Alpine Country Club is a great place filled with incredible people,” said Finau. “When I got on the PGA TOUR, I was looking for a private club to practice at and Alpine stepped up. It was a mutual thing, I love the area and I live about 10 minutes from here (Alpine Country Club). It ended up working out, to where, I love the golf course and again the people. The people that are here are incredible people filled with a lot of love for not only me, but for the members and it’s something I want to be a part of. I’m proud to be representing Alpine Country Club and just to be a member here.”

“We’re excited to once again host The Tony Finau Foundation Golf Classic,” said Neil Maurer, general manager, Alpine Country Club. “We congratulate and support Tony and his foundation in raising funds for underprivileged youth. Our members and associates will be cheering extra hard for him at the upcoming Ryder Cup.”
