The Tom Fazio Designed Course is the New Star in Branson

Scottsdale, Arizona - Troon Golf, the world leader in upscale golf course management, development, and marketing, is pleased to announce that Branson Creek Golf Club in Branson, Missouri has been selected for GOLF Magazine's prestigious list of "Top 10 New Courses You Can Play".

"We are honored by this distinction," said Steve Shields, Branson Creek General Manager and Director of Golf. "Honestly we're not surprised. This was our goal. The day our ownership group hired Tom Fazio to design the course, they told him to make Branson Creek world famous. This award is a huge step in that direction."

Nestled on a 300-hundred acre tract of land in the Ozark Mountains, Branson Creek Golf Club opened for limited play in the fall of 1999 and hosted a Grand Opening Celebration in May of 2000 when all 18 holes were complete. At that time golfers across the Midwest realized they had another reason to visit the popular tourist destination. Branson plays host to over seven million guests a year, with the main attractions being the live theater district on 76 Country Boulevard, Silver Dollar City Theme Park, and Table Rock Lake.

Ranked by GOLF Magazine, the public courses that made their debut in 2000 were chosen based on their exceptional beauty, challenging design and mere standards of excellence throughout. Most interesting perhaps are the architects who have taken to the hills to produce their versions of Vertigo on sites undiscovered or deemed too difficult a generation ago.

"Branson's visitor market will have to make way for golfers clamoring to see the new star of the Ozarks," said Brian McCallen, GOLF Magazine Senior Editor. "Fazio's artistry - harmonious transitions from existing topography to manmade features - is fully realized here." McCallen went on to call the 12th hole a "big-time" Par-4 and the 14th a "truly great" Par-5. He added, "Branson Creek is so appealing Andy Williams, Bobby Vinton, and other golfers in town have been known to skip a matinee performance on short notice."

"That's not entirely true", said Monte Schisler, Tournament Coordinator and Marketing Director at Branson Creek Golf Club. "Not that they haven't talked about it, but I've never seen Mr. Williams or Mr. Vinton miss a show to play golf. But they might have to call ahead for a tee-time now that Branson Creek made the list."

"We're proud of Branson Creek and the staff we have in place there", said Dana Garmany, Troon Golf Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. " This course offers the ‘Troon Golf Experience' everyday and is something very special. It's nice to see others are recognizing it as one of the top new facilities in the country."
