Princeville Makai

Troon®, the leader in golf course management, development, and marketing is proud to announce that Doug Sutter has been named as the new general manager at Princeville Makai Golf Club at the St. Regis Princeville Resort in Kauai, Hawaii. Sutter replaces Alex Nakajima, who recently accepted the general manager position at Kapalua Golf.

Sutter most recently served as the director of sales and marketing at the Princeville Makai Golf Club – a position he had held since 2014. He first joined the Princeville Makai staff in 2009 as an assistant golf professional. Two years later, Sutter was named sales manager for the award-winning property. Prior to arriving in Hawaii, Sutter worked two years (2008 and 2009) at Kierland Golf Club in Scottsdale, Ariz. as an outside service supervisor and as an assistant golf professional. His travels also include a short stint at the Troon Corporate Office in Scottsdale, where he worked as a sales and marketing administrator.

“We’re happy to announce that Doug Sutter is the new GM at Princeville Makai Golf Club,” said Mike Ryan, division president, Troon Golf. “His incredible work ethic and passion for life made him an obvious choice when it came time to replace Alex Nakajima. Doug joined the Troon family in 2005 as an outside service associate at Rolling Stone Ranch and has worked his way up the proverbial ladder ever since.”

“I am extremely excited to have the opportunity to lead Princeville Makai Golf Club moving forward,” said Sutter. “Alex Nakajima has left some big shoes to fill, but with the support of my team members and the overwhelming resources from Troon, I am excited for the challenge. This is without a doubt, a dream come true!”
