EXCITING COMPETITION AND MEMORABLE EXPERIENCES FLOURISH AT 2008 TROON CHALLENGE NATIONAL FINALS

Scottsdale, Ariz. – The 2008 Troon Challenge National Finals, contested on August 23-24 at the highly acclaimed Revere Golf Club in Las Vegas, Nev., proved to be a tremendous success. With the help of Callaway Golf® and American Hole in One,® all 36 contestants were treated to a thrilling weekend of spirited competition and unforgettable memories from the event.

Troon Challenge is a series of amateur golf tournaments held at world-class Troon Golf® facilities across the United States. Beginning May 2008, 194 two-player teams competed in local qualifying events in Arizona, California, Florida, Nevada and Texas. A total of 18 teams qualified for the National Finals event at The Revere Golf Club.

After two days of competition in the Gross Division, Jonas DeWitte and Jason Guptill, qualifiers from Harmony Golf Preserve in Florida, found themselves deadlocked with Mike Rose and James Salerno who qualified at The Revere Golf Club. Both teams finished with two-day totals of 135. A playoff was ultimately needed, and DeWitte and Guptill claimed the Gross Division Championship with a birdie on the second hole.

In the Net Division, David Hwang and Nick Han, qualifiers from the Badlands Golf Club in Nevada, played their way to a first round eight-under, par 62. Their performance established a two-shot lead over three teams entering the final round. Sunday proved to be a repeat of Saturday with Hwang and Han shooting eight-under to win the Net Division Championship.
