GOLF DIGEST NAMES NINE TROON GOLF-MANAGED COURSES TO “100 GREATEST COURSES” LIST

Scottsdale, Ariz. – Troon Golf,® the leader in upscale golf course management, development and marketing is pleased to announce that nine of its managed courses were recognized on Golf Digest’s “100 Greatest Courses” list in the May 2009 issue. The biennial list ranked Black Diamond Ranch among “America’s 100 Greatest Courses” and five facilities as “America’s 100 Greatest Public Courses.” Two facilities were also named to the “100 Best Courses Outside the United States” list. Notable improvements were made by Old Works in Montana, which climbed 33 spots to No. 67 and Forest Dunes Golf Club in Michigan, now ranked No. 18 among the top public courses. Turnberry in Scotland, as well as Cap Cana’s Punta Espada Golf Club in the Dominican Republic, made their own moves toward the top of the “100 Best Courses Outside the United States” list. Turnberry now ranks No. 5 and Punta Espada Golf Club ranks No. 46.

The Golf Digest Course Rating Panel is composed of more than 900 low-handicap men and women. The panel evaluates courses on seven criteria, giving each a scale of 1 (unacceptable) to 10 (perfect). The categories include: Shot Values, Resistance to Scoring, Design Variety, Memorability, Aesthetics, Conditioning and Ambience.
