Old Works Ranks High on the List

Scottsdale, Arizona - Troon Golf,® the leader in upscale golf course management, development and marketing is pleased to announce that Old Works golf course, located in Anaconda, Mont., has been recognized as one of the country's top values for courses with $50 or less greens fees by Golf Magazine.

In the February 2007 issue of Golf Magazine, a reader poll revealed that 72 percent of golfers prefer to spend less than $50 on greens fees. With this in mind, Golf Magazine created their "Cheap Shots" list that named 10 of the country's best golf courses under $50. Old Works made an impressive showing at #3 on the list and was praised for its Jack Nicklaus Signature design, memorable black slag bunkers and distinctive backdrops that adorn many of its holes.

"The golf season in Montana is just around the corner and this article keeps the Old Works name fresh in the minds of golfers throughout the country," said Steve Wickliffe, Old Works manager and director of golf. "Our team has worked hard to provide an exceptional golf experience at an affordable cost."

The list was composed by the magazine's course-ranking panelists and a network of regional golf experts. Course design and conditioning were factors, but the key was cost. Ranked courses had to cost less than $50 for non-residents at least four days a week in high season, walking or riding.

Old Works is the first golf course developed on a Federal EPA Superfund Site and was designed to incorporate many significant relics that retain much of the regions mining history. Old Works is the only Nicklaus Signature golf course in Montana and has gained a reputation as one of the best daily-fee experiences in the Pacific Northwest. Its generous fairways, native grass borders and large greens, make it one of the most spacious and unique golf courses in the country.
