GOLF & TRAVEL MAGAZINE RECOGNIZES THREE TROON GOLF COURSES

Scottsdale, Arizona – Troon Golf, the worldwide leader in management, development and marketing of upscale golf facilities, is pleased to announce three of its golf courses have been recognized in Golf & Travel Magazine’s recent ranking, “Guide to the 40 Best Daily Fee Courses.” Troon North Golf Club’s Monument and Pinnacle courses, and the North Course at Talking Stick Golf Club were the only three Arizona courses included in the magazine’s June 2001 survey of daily-fee golf facilities.

No. 18 – Troon North Golf Club – Monument Course — Acclaimed as the paradigm high-end, daily-fee golf experience created by Tom Weiskopf and Jay Morrish in 1990, the Monument course offers unique desert challenges and visual sensations that feature Troon Golf’s hallmark playing conditions and exceptional customer service.

No. 19 – Talking Stick Golf Club – North Course – Located on land owned by the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community in Scottsdale, Talking Stick Golf Club features two diverse course designs by Bill Coore and Ben Crenshaw. Designed as a tribute to the game’s Scottish roots, the North Course is set in open grassland with expansive views of the surrounding desert mountain ranges and prominent landmarks. When the club opened in 1997, Golf & Travel Magazine ranked Talking Stick among the country’s best new public golf courses and named it one of “America’s Best 100 Modern Golf Courses.”

No. 31 – Troon North Golf Club – Pinnacle Course – Stretched beneath the prominent Scottsdale landmark Pinnacle Peak, the Troon North Pinnacle Course marked Tom Weiskopf’s solo design debut. Threading through immense granite outcroppings, the immaculately maintained fairways feather gracefully into desert vegetation as the ingenious routing traces the desert contours and blends seamlessly in the natural lay of the land.

“We are honored for the recognition bestowed on these three magnificent golf courses,” said Troon Golf President and Chief Operating Officer, Hud Hinton. “Troon Golf was founded on the concept of providing superlative golf experiences at a daily-fee level, so we feel especially proud when our facilities are considered among the country’s best.”
