Portugal Masters Returns to Oceânico Vilamoura Golf Club and Benahavis Senior Masters Visits La Quinta Golf & Country Club for the First Time

Scottsdale, Ariz. - Troon Golf,® the leader in upscale golf course management, development and marketing is pleased to announce that two of its illustrious resorts are preparing to host European Tour events in the coming weeks. The Victoria Course at Oceânico Vilamoura Golf Club in Algarve, Portugal is set to host the Portugal Masters October 15-18, 2009 and La Quinta Golf & Country Club in Marbella, Spain will welcome the Benahavis Senior Masters October 16-18, 2009.

The Victoria Course, featuring an award-winning Arnold Palmer design, will host the Portugal Masters for a third straight year. Over the past few years, the facility has established itself as a firm favorite with the Tour professionals and the European Tour alike. The event will welcome some of golf's greatest, including Padraig Harrington, Lee Westwood and Retief Goosen.

"It is always a great test when the world's best golfers come to compete on Troon Golf-managed courses," commented Bruce Glasco, managing director Troon Golf, Europe, Middle East & Africa. "The Portugal Masters has provided a great platform to showcase the unique experience offered at The Victoria Course. The players are always rich in praise for the condition of the course and how the event is run."

La Quinta Golf & Country Club will welcome the Benahavis Senior Masters for the first time. La Quinta has been flourishing under the guidance of Troon Golf since the partnership was announced earlier this year. With some of the most experienced minds in the industry working with the ownership at La Quinta, the anticipation surrounding the event is growing.

"Everyone at La Quinta is very much looking forward to welcoming the European Senior Tour to our club," stated Borja Pascual Gomez-Cuetara, vice-president of La Quinta Golf & Country Club. "To have so many great names playing in a fully sanctioned European Senior Tour event at La Quinta is a major boost for our golf club and all our members."

With Ryder Cup legends Sam Torrance and Costantino Rocca competing, the event is set to attract large crowds and great interest. The par 72 championship course will present a stern test, not only with its tremendous layout, but also with the condition of the playing surfaces. A significant investment was recently made in a variety of state-of-the-art machinery to help further establish the quality of the course and to position it as a premium golf destination in Europe.

The fact that two major European Tour events will be hosted at Troon Golf facilities in the same week gives further testament to the rate at which the company has expanded in the EMEA regions.
