SIX TROON GOLF-MANAGED COURSES IN AUSTRALIA NAMED TO THE GOLF COURSE GUIDE’S “TOP 100 PUBLIC ACCESS COURSES”

Scottsdale, Ariz. – Troon Golf,® the leader in upscale golf course management, development and marketing is pleased to announce that six of its managed courses were recognized by The Golf Course Guide for ranking among the “Top 100 Public Access Courses” in Australia. The 2010 list marked the 10th consecutive year the publication has issued the accolade, recognizing both daily-fee courses as well as private golf clubs that provide access to outside play. While all six Troon Golf facilities were listed among the Top 50 courses, Pacific Harbour Golf & Country Club received the most notable accolade by maintaining last year’s coveted position on the Top 10 list. The rankings also acknowledge three courses managed by Troon Golf as the top three facilities in Queensland, namely Pacific Harbour Golf & Country Club, Brookwater Golf Club and Links Hope Island.

Results from the Top 100 list were broken into four additional categories: Best Design, Best Conditions, Best Aesthetics and Best Stay-and-Play Resorts. The Troon Golf-managed courses that received recognition include:

The Golf Course Guide, which provides a state-by-state guide to more than 800 top resorts, public courses and private clubs in Australia, uses a weighted system based on a facility’s design (40 percent), conditions (40 percent) and aesthetics (20 percent) to determine its rankings.
