TROON GOLF AND ITS MANAGED PROPERTIES EARN TOP ACCOLADES AT MIDDLE EAST GOLF AWARDS

Scottsdale, Ariz. – Troon Golf,® the leader in upscale golf course management, development and marketing is pleased to announce that Abu Dhabi Golf Club (ADGC) scooped the “Best Golf Course in the Middle East” award and “Best Golf Club (overall) in the Middle East” at this year’s Middle East Golf Awards. It was in fact the third straight year that Abu Dhabi Golf Club has claimed the title, an unprecedented achievement in the Middle East golf’s history, and the second time in three years to win the “Best Golf Club” (overall) award. The Els Club’s Butch Harmon School of Golf won “Best Golf Academy” and Xerox won the “Best Corporate Golf Event,” for the second time in three years. Troon Golf has managed the Xerox Corporate Golf Challenge for the past five years. This recognition capped off a hugely successful night at the awards.

Troon Golf has played an integral part in developing world class golf properties in the UAE and is delighted to see its flagship managed properties receive recognition for the dedicated work that has delivered owners’ expectations and further elevated the sport in the region.

ADGC, home to the European PGA Tour’s Abu Dhabi Golf Championship, so deservedly won the coveted “Best Golf Course in the Middle East” award for the third year running as well as the award for “Best Golf Club (overall) in the Middle East”. Players at this year’s Championship were consistently rich in praise for the condition of the course and the challenge they were presented with as well as their enjoyment of the time spent in the ever growing Emirate. Abu Dhabi Golf Club remains a central part of the vision in promoting the UAE capital of Abu Dhabi as an international golf destination and is viewed very much as the home of golf in the region.

The Els Club was also celebrating as the Butch Harmon School of Golf was awarded “Best Golf Academy.” The Els Club, launched to critical acclaim two years ago, has since impressed all who have visited. With the introduction of the state-of-the-art academy, golfers of all ages and levels can receive world class instruction in perfect surroundings.

There was an added bonus to the night when the Xerox Corporate Golf Challenge, managed by Troon Golf in conjunction with Xerox, was awarded the prize for “Best Corporate Golf Event.” The award is further indication to the diverse array of services provided by Troon Golf and demonstrates the quality and experience of the company’s valued associates.
