The original vision is complete in Egg Harbor, Wisconsin

Scottsdale, Arizona – Troon Golf,® the recognized world leader in luxury golf management, development and marketing, is pleased to announce its recent management contract with Horseshoe Bay Golf Club, a semi-private property in Egg Harbor, Wisconsin, that offers a stunning golf course laden with beauty, challenge, and links to the past in the Door County and Green Bay areas.

Troon Golf will oversee founder Frank E. Murphy’s ultimate dream of a world-class destination on the “thumb” of Wisconsin, just south of Egg Harbor. Murphy envisioned a spectacular setting “where people will come and stay, and live” on land with developmental roots that date back to the French explorers who first discovered Door County in the 1600’s. In the early 1900’s, Mr. Murphy’s farms featured the majestic Horseshoe Bay Barns, and grew into the county’s largest apple and cherry orchards. A century later, the fourth-generation Frank Murphy Cowles family completed the original vision by creating a fabulous golf course on the historic acreage.

“Troon Golf is honored to share in the rich family heritage that makes Horseshoe Bay Farms such a beautiful and unique property,” said Troon Golf President and Chief Operating Officer, Hud Hinton. “We are confident that Mr. Murphy would welcome our management philosophy and the manner in which our renowned TROON GOLF EXPERIENCE enhances the history of this special site.”

The turn-of-the-century heritage was not lost on the design of the Horseshoe Bay Golf Club. The designers, Rick Robbins and Brian Lussier, were careful to maintain a very traditional feel in a modern design that appeals to present-day players. The course is nestled in limestone outcroppings from the ice age. Each hole tells a story in the varied history of Horseshoe Bay Farms. From the caves below the golf course, to a stunning view of the water’s of Green Bay from the eighteenth fairway, the farm’s heritage and lore make every round more memorable.

“We selected Troon Golf to oversee our golf operations at Horseshoe Bay Farms knowing that the company represents the pinnacle of golf management. We want nothing less for this remarkable facility,” stated Rick Hearden, President, Horseshoe Bay Golf Club, LLC. “Through Troon Golf’s experience, high standards, and superior service, we are confident that Horseshoe Bay will thrive as a top level golf course for years to come.”
