TROON GOLF MANAGED FACILITIES TO PARTICIPATE IN SECOND ANNUAL PATRIOT GOLF DAY AUG. 29 – SEPT. 1

Scottsdale, Ariz. – Troon Golf,® is excited to announce its participation in the second annual Patriot Golf Day, a joint initiative of The PGA of America and the United States Golf Association. Golfers playing at numerous Troon Golf managed facilities around the country will have a unique opportunity to donate a minimum of $1 to benefit the Folds of Honor Foundation. The donations will be collected August 29 – September 1 to provide educational scholarships to families of those who have become disabled or lost their lives in the line of duty.

“Patriot Golf Day is a great opportunity for the golf industry to give back to the families of those who have given their lives protecting our country,” stated Hud Hinton, president and COO, Troon Golf. “It is an honor to support this cause and like last year’s effort, I believe it will be a tremendous success.”

The inaugural Patriot Golf Day held September 1, 2007, resulted in donations of more than $1.1 million to support the families of military service members who have been disabled or lost their lives in the line of duty. Contributions were received from more than 3,200 golf facilities and approximately 200 scholarships have already been awarded due to the nationwide efforts of PGA Professionals who hosted the 2007 Patriot Golf Day.

Major Dan Rooney, a PGA Professional and USGA member from Broken Arrow, Okla., inspired Patriot Golf Day. Major Rooney will once again lead Patriot Golf Day in 2008 before he reports for his third tour of duty in Iraq as an F-16 pilot in the 125th Fighter Squadron of the Oklahoma Air National Guard.
