TROON GOLF RECOGNIZED AS LEADER IN “WOMEN FRIENDLY” COURSES

Scottsdale, Ariz. — Troon Golf,® the leader in upscale golf course management, development and marketing is excited to announce that it’s the first golf management company to become a supporting partner of the Executive Women’s Golf Association (EWGA) and was recently recognized for managing an impressive 13 “women friendly” golf facilities. The 13 Troon Golf managed facilities are the first to ever receive the designation by the EWGA.

This special designation was recently awarded by Pam Swensen, the chief executive officer of the EWGA at the 2007 Troon Golf Management Conference held earlier this month in Scottsdale, Arizona. The EWGA provides a wide range of golf, social and networking activities for both new and experienced women golfers. The designation is based on a strict list of requirements that define playability of the course and customer experience for women. Courses that receive the designation present a fun, challenging, playable option for all golf skill levels and create an overall positive experience for women golfers.

“Troon Golf recognizes that the future success of the game lies in creating a welcoming environment for all people interested in playing,” stated Hud Hinton, president and COO, Troon Golf. “Our golf facilities strive to create a sense of acceptance for women golfers and our hope is that all of our courses will soon be recognized as ‘women friendly’ facilities.”

The 13 Troon Golf facilities given the EWGA “‘women friendly” designation include:

Estrella Mountain Ranch Golf Club, Goodyear, Ariz.; Ocotillo Golf Resort, Chandler, Ariz.; Poston Butte Golf Club at Anthem Merrill Ranch, Florence, Ariz.; Talking Stick Golf Club, Scottsdale, Ariz.; The Westin Kierland Resort & Spa, Scottsdale, Ariz.; Troon North Golf Club, Scottsdale, Ariz.; Escena Golf Club, Palm Springs, Calif.; Monarch Beach Golf Links, Dana Point, Calif.; The Ridge at Castle Pines North, Castle Rock, Colo.; The Revere Golf Club, Henderson, Nev.; Teravista Golf Club, Round Rock, Texas; Classic Club, Palm Desert, Calif.; The Westin La Cantera Resort, San Antonio, Texas

“At the golf course, women don’t want to feel they are being treated differently, they just want to be taken seriously,” said Swensen. “We want to recognize Troon Golf for understanding the value of providing ‘women friendly’ facilities.”
