One of Northern California's Most Respected Private Clubs

Scottsdale, Ariz. - Troon Golf,® the leader in upscale golf course management, development and marketing is pleased to announce it has been selected to manage Marin Country Club, one of the most respected private clubs in Northern California.

Nestled in a beautiful valley just outside of San Francisco in Novato, Calif., Marin Country Club offers full-service amenities that include an 18-hole golf course, indoor/outdoor golf training facility, fitness center, four tennis courts, three pools and a well equipped golf shop. Its elegant clubhouse also features casual and fine dining for members and a ballroom for weddings, banquets and special events.

"Marin Country Club is truly an exceptional private facility with an outstanding reputation in its region," stated Jim McLaughlin, senior vice president, Troon Privé. "We are honored to have been selected by them and are confident that our management practices will contribute positively to the experience of the members and guests."

Designed by John Harbottle, the recently renovated golf course boasts reconfigured bunkers and new greens. The course has been home to the 1993 U.S. Open Championship qualification tournament, the 2004 U.S. Amateur Qualifying Championship, and most recently the 2008 U.S. Open Senior Amateur Qualifying Tournament.

The course has been augmented by years of careful grooming and thoughtful improvements. New cart paths were added within the last few years, old wooden bridges have been replaced with beautiful stone structures and a large lake provides refreshing vistas from most of the course. A creek, water hazards and natural barriers virtually eliminate parallel fairways, providing beauty, challenge and excitement on every hole.

"Changing from a traditional, stand-alone general manager to a professional management team is what our club decided it needed to provide a world-class experience to our membership," stated Megen Lawler, president of the board of directors at Marin Country Club. "Bringing Troon Golf onboard can only help enhance the member experience while the identity and culture of Marin Country Club remains intact."

Memberships at Marin Country Club are designed to meet diverse social and recreational needs of all family members, couples, empty-nesters, and retirees. This includes options for those interested in an active lifestyle enriched by golf, tennis, and family recreation, or those looking to simply relax and develop lasting friendships.
