Contracts with Greenfield Partners in Long Range Renovation

Scottsdale, Ariz. - The fairways of the Elkhorn golf course in one of America's most venerable ski capitals, Sun Valley, Idaho, were once nearly as heralded as the nearby ski trails. The new owners, Greenfield Partners, have contracted Troon Golf,® the recognized world leader in upscale golf course management, development and marketing, to manage golf operations and begin a major restoration that will once again present the golf course in its original luster.

Situated at the base of one of Sun Valley's most prominent landmarks, Dollar Mountain, the Elkhorn layout marks the final father-son collaboration of Robert Trent Jones Sr. and Robert Trent Jones Jr. Designed in 1972, their ingenious routing offers the most dramatic elevations of any course in the area, and affords spectacular views of the mountains that make Sun Valley famous.

"Elkhorn rates as one of Idaho's top golf courses and epitomizes the remarkable vision that Robert Trent Jones Sr. shared with his son," stated Troon Golf Executive Vice President, Acquisition & Development, Tim Schantz. "We are honored to work with Greenfield Partners in restoring this classic facility to its highest level of excellence."

Acclaimed golf course architectural firm, Phelps Golf Design of Evergreen, Colo. and Scottsdale, Ariz., will lead the renovation, adding only a minimal number of conveniences for today's play, and otherwise highlighting and preserving the Jones' classic configuration. Greenfield Partners anticipates closing the course in 2004 to allow for the renovation and will reopen in 2005, complete with a new clubhouse.

"Our objective at Elkhorn is to present a truly classic golf experience that includes the highest level of services and amenities, and complements the history and aura of Sun Valley," stated Greenfield Partners Vice President, Jeff Russell. "We looked at a number of management companies, and chose Troon Golf as our partner for their diverse talent pool and readiness to begin immediately with our plan for Elkhorn."

Headquartered in Scottsdale, Arizona, Troon Golf manages operations at more than 140 clubs located in 25 states and 11 countries. Additionally, 28 Troon Golf facilities enjoy a Top 100 ranking by national or international publications. Troon Golf properties include The Westin Turnberry Resort, Ayrshire, Scotland; Legend Trail Golf Club, Scottsdale, Ariz.; Whitetail Club, McCall, Idaho; Newport National Golf Club, Newport, R.I.; Sierra Nevada Golf Ranch, Genoa, Nev.; Huntingdale Golf Club, Victoria, Australia; and Terralta Club de Golf, Monterrey, Mexico.Scottsdale, Ariz. - The fairways of the Elkhorn golf course in one of America's most venerable ski capitals, Sun Valley, Idaho, were once nearly as heralded as the nearby ski trails.
