First Brand-New Golf Course Community In Area In Nearly Two Decades

Scottsdale, AZ - Troon Golf®, the leader in upscale golf course management, development and marketing is pleased to announce its partnership with Empire Companies and Lennar Communities Inland, a division of Lennar Homes, to develop Escena Golf Club in Palm Springs, CA. The first brand-new golf course community to be built in the city of Palm Springs in nearly twenty years, Escena Golf Club will be ready for play in spring 2005.

Formerly the Palm Springs Classic, this golf course community is undergoing its own historic renaissance, following suit from the revitalization and repositioning of Palm Springs as a cosmopolitan desert retreat. Taking its cue from all that is the "new" Palm Springs, Escena Golf Club will provide a complimentary "sense of place" through its own defining architecture that will be sophisticated, unique, urbane and eclectic. It will portray the past, emerging present, and future of this great oasis in the desert.

"We look forward to working with Empire Companies and Lennar Communities Inland on this exciting project," stated Troon Golf President and COO, Hud Hinton. "Escena Golf Club will be a shining example of the ‘new' Palm Springs and offer residents and guests alike an incredible golf experience."

The Club features a 7,233-yard, par 72, championship course built upon 172 acres accentuated by heavily landscaped native areas and multiple water features - perfect to provide a challenge for golfers at all levels of the game. Empire Companies developed the golf course and Lennar Communities will develop all community and residential infrastructure. Individual residential neighborhoods will be constructed by invited builders, with an estimated 1,450 homes including both attached and detached residences in a variety of styles and prices.

"This is a world-class team that is once again bringing world-class championship play to the City of Palm Springs," said James Previti, chairman and chief executive officer of Empire Companies.
