The TROON GOLF EXPERIENCE to Feature Three Jack Nicklaus Signature Courses at North America's Largest Destination Resort

Scottsdale, Arizona - To realize his extraordinary vision for the future of the Dominican Republic, developer Ricardo Hazoury, president of Grupo del Caribe, has summoned the world's best designers and managers to create Cap Cana, a multi-billion-dollar, 30,000 acre, world-class resort destination on the eastern tip of the island. Troon Golf, the world leader in luxury golf management, development, and marketing, has been contracted to oversee the construction of three Jack Nicklaus Signature golf courses and manage all golf club operations when the first Cap Cana course opens in 2003.

Impressed by their collaborations in Los Cabos, Mexico, Grupo del Caribe, one of the largest development groups in the Caribbean Islands, without hesitation, contracted Nicklaus Designs and Troon Golf to create an extraordinary resort golf experience to match Hazoury's unprecedented plan to take international tourism in the Dominican Republic to staggering new levels.

The capability to oversee initial project planning and the various stages of construction from start to finish is key to the Troon Golf operation. In addition to creating and maintaining the company's hallmark course conditions, Troon Golf will be responsible for delivering standard quality guest relations and customer service to their North American operations.

Designed as a pedestrian-friendly destination resort with a large community of permanent and semi-permanent residents, the awe-inspiring Cap Cana complex will spread along a five-mile stretch of pristine beach property, and will feature the Caribbean's largest marina, surrounded by four- and five-star luxury hotels, boutiques, and restaurants - linked by the stretch of golf courses and the two-mile long Grand Canal.

"We contracted Troon Golf to help us create a highly refined golf experience to complement our vision for the finest example of the resort lifestyle," stated Cap Cana notable resort co-developer, Pierre Schnebelen. "The company's global reputation for meticulous standards of excellence and total knowledge of the golf market at this level will ensure the consummate stature for the three Cap Cana courses, and attract several of the most discriminate golf vacationers from all over the world."

"We are privileged to partner with Dr. Hazoury, Mr. Schnebelen, and Grupo del Caribe. We appreciate the opportunity to play an instrumental role in the development of this exceptional resort project," said Dana Garmany, Troon Golf Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. "Our management philosophies and operational procedures fit perfectly with the vision these gentlemen hold for a new level of tourism in the Dominican Republic."

The Hazoury's Grupo del Caribe is a conglomerate that includes a private University and the only Latin American construction company to hold an ISO 9000 certification. The company manages international airports and has built over 5,000 hotel rooms.

Based in Scottsdale, Arizona, Troon Golf represents over 110 management and development contracts in 21 states and 11 countries. Troon Golf properties include venues such as The Westin Turnberry Resort, Ayrshire, Scotland; Talking Stick Golf Club, Scottsdale, Arizona; The Sagamore Club, Indianapolis, Indiana; Waikoloa Beach Resort, Kohala Coast, Hawaii; Huntingdale Golf Club, Victoria, Australia; and Oak Village Golf Club, Chiba Prefecture, Japan.
