Partnering with The Melrose Company in a Visionary University Club Concept

Scottsdale, Arizona - Troon Golf, the recognized world leader in luxury brand golf management, development, and marketing, takes pride in announcing its most recent partnership with The Melrose Company from Hilton Head, South Carolina and the Weitz Company of Des Moines, Iowa in the creation of the Georgia Tech Club. The Club honors the culture, traditions, and character of the Georgia's most cherished institution, and embodies The Melrose Company's revolutionary vision for future alliances with colleges and universities.

Located in Alpharetta, north of Atlanta, the privately developed residential golf facility and world-class recreational community will help support the University, and serve as the host facility for alumni, business associates, supporters, and faculty. In addition, the facility will provide state-of-the-art practice and learning facilities for the Georgia Tech golf program.

At the center of the development is the private 18-hole Signature golf course designed by the eminent golf architect, Rees Jones, which Troon Golf will manage as a Privé, Private Clubs of Distinction facility. This special division of Troon Golf is focused on delivering the TROON GOLF EXPERIENCE to members by providing championship playing conditions and excellent service standards while maintaining an exclusive private club atmosphere.

"Our selection of Troon Golf assures members and guests of the Georgia Tech Club our expanded concept of the traditional private club experience complete with rich ambience and classic comfort," stated Jeff Quinn of The Melrose Company. "Troon Golf currently manages several private facilities in which they have created unique membership programs that include preferred access at other Troon Golf-managed facilities."

Spreading the rolling woodlands with lakes and streams, the golf course frames the 600-acre development set in Alpharetta's "horse country." The "campus-style" clubhouse complex will house the golf shop and grill room, dining and banquet facilities, and the lifestyle center, along with a tennis facility and swim club.

The real estate component of The Georgia Tech Club features 25 four-bedroom Founder Cottages and approximately 225 single-family residences set on one-acre homesites.

"We are privileged to align our development and management services with a project as visionary as the Georgia Tech Club," stated Troon Golf Executive Vice President, Acquisition & Development, Tim Schantz. "We look forward to our partnership with The Melrose Company and the Weitz Company and offering our renowned TROON GOLF EXPERIENCE to enhance the classic traditions of this esteemed University reflected in this superior club community."
