This is Ricky, and we are back for another exciting edition of #TrendingAtTroon, and we have a lot of things trending this week, so let's get started.
The Al Zorah Golf Club is finally open. We've been talking about this golf course for a long time, but last Wednesday the club officially opened for play. Mark Chapleski was there; Area Managing Director, Senior Vice President, Troon Golf, Middle East and he presented the leader of Ajman with a driver to hit the first tee shot as a part of the official opening of the club.
Al Zorah is the first course open in this region in nearly six years, and Bruce Glasco, COO, Managing Director, International Division, commented, saying, "We look forward to providing the level of service that this incredible venue deserves and hope it continues to help earn plaudits of golfers from all corners of the globe." Visit alzorahgolfclub.ae to learn more and to book your tee times today.
Paige Spiranac was in Dubai last week playing the Omega Dubai Ladies Masters. Paige was playing Callaway Golf clubs, wearing a Callaway hat, her caddie was carrying a Callaway golf bag, and her name was on that golf bag. But get this, so was the official TroonFIT logo. Paige has put a focus on her health on her road to the LPGA Tour, and we are excited to see more TroonFIT initiatives coming from her in the near future.
Speaking of Paige, while she was in Dubai, she stopped by The Els Club, Dubai. Check this out.
"Here at The Els Club in Dubai. I mean, it's absolutely amazing, right? You gotta love Troon Golf."
Thanks for spending the day with us, Paige.
Members of our "mountain clubs" in Arizona, places like Torreon, Pinetop, Talking Rock, Capital Canyon and Pine Canyon are invited to the Dynamite Grille at Troon North Golf Club to reconnect, socialize, and, well... Eat. Kicking off tonight, all mountain members and members of Troon North Golf Club will receive a complimentary holiday cocktail, appetizers, and so much more. This is a great way to experience all the Dynamite Grille has to offer and to mingle with friends and family while doing it. Oh, and if you haven't had the Kobe beef sliders, do yourself a favor, order those. Oh, and they have some new tuna sliders that I haven't even had yet. So, you might see me there tonight. Visit troonnorthgolfclub.com to learn more and cheers.
AGM, the Association of Golf Merchandisers, is the educational voice in golf merchandising. They've recently released their list of 2015 Platinum Award winners and Maderas Golf Club, located in Poway, California, just north of San Diego, won! We couldn't be happier for the team at Maderas. Oh, and the next time you're there, order the breakfast burrito. What is all this talk about food? You'd, like, think I missed lunch or something.
That is all we have trending at Troon this week. Well, not quite. The Troon Corporate Championship is this weekend, and 30 golfers from the corporate office are going to be teeing it up at Whirlwind Golf Club at Wild Horse Pass for a chance to take home the crystal. Who do you think is going to win? Dolf's been playing pretty good. Michael can go low. Heck, Kris has been taking golf lessons from Brady down at Ak-Chin Southern Dunes, so we know he's got a chance, but I am only worried about Ted Elliot. Ted, you're in my golf cart, and, well, best of luck to you, sir.
