Troon Golf Continues to Oversee Management Operations

Scottsdale, Ariz. - Ventana Canyon Alliance, L.L.C., recently purchased The Ventana Canyon Golf & Racquet Club and The Lodge at Ventana Canyon. The Alliance is excited to continue the partnership with Troon Golf,® the world leader in luxury golf management, development, and marketing, to oversee the management of the golf courses and resort operations for The Lodge at Ventana Canyon.

Ventana Canyon Alliance, L.L.C., was constituted in 2003 for the purpose of acquiring all assets of Ventana Canyon Golf and Racquet Club and The Lodge. Jerry D'Huy, Jerry McCoy, Taylor Payson, Travor Beste, and Michael Goode, Ventana Canyon Club members, formed the Ventana Canyon Alliance, L.L.C., to purchase the Club and Resort Facilities. Investment in Alliance was limited to Club members and property owners within the Ventana Canyon Community Association.

Subsequently additional investors were elected to join Alliance's original Board of Managers to draw upon the considerable pool of business and professional talent dwelling within the immediate community. An Advisory Panel, comprised of leaders in the Tucson community, was also organized and contributed to the success in making the acquisition a reality. The total purchase package includes the 50-suite lodge and clubhouse, two golf courses, multi-court tennis facility, golf shop, fitness center, restaurant, as well as additional vacant acreage.

"Alliance Managers believe that such broad-based, local ownership by the members and property owners is the best way to provide a first-class club and luxury resort operation. From a business standpoint, this also is a very sound investment," stated Jerry McCoy, Alliance Vice Chairman. "Through the high standards and first-class management practices Troon Golf provides, we are confident that Ventana Canyon Golf & Racquet Club and The Lodge at Ventana Canyon will stand among the finest club and resort experiences in the United States."

Nestled against the dramatic backdrop of Tucson, Arizona's beautiful Santa Catalina foothills is The Lodge at Ventana Canyon, a prestigious secluded hideaway with just 50 spacious guest suites and 36 holes of nationally recognized championship golf, designed by renowned architect Tom Fazio. Surrounded by 600 acres of extraordinary natural beauty, The Lodge was rated by Condé Nast Traveler Magazine as one of "America's Top Five Golf Resorts" and the "Best in the Southwest." In addition, Golfweek Magazine recognized both of Ventana Canyon's courses, Mountain (No. 7) and Canyon (No. 11), in their annual ranking, "America's Best State-by-State" in Arizona for 2004.

"Troon Golf is honored to continue its strong relationship with the Ventana Canyon Alliance," stated Troon Golf Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Dana Garmany. "We are equally confident the high standards we set for Troon Golf will deliver the highly-refined club and resort operation Alliance has envisioned for the members and their guests."
