Longbow15th Hole

Mesa, Ariz. (August 11, 2020) – The LPGA Symetra Tour returns to Longbow Golf Club in Mesa, Ariz. this week (Aug. 10 – 16) with the inaugural Founders Tribute at Longbow. Local golfers Sydney Bryan and Ariana Macioce have received sponsor exemptions to play in the 54-hole tournament.

Bryan, a senior at Mesa Red Mountain High School, is verbally committed to attend UNLV in the fall of 2021. Sydney is the daughter of Stacie Bryan, one of the most sought after female golf coaches in Arizona, and step daughter of Jeff Fisher, a Top 25 Elite Junior Coach in the U.S.A. Stacie and Jeff are co-founders of the Fisher Bryan Golf Academy at Longbow Golf Club. Longbow is Sydney’s home course where she carries a +0.6 handicap.

An accomplished junior golfer, Macioce graduated high school from Xavier College Prep in Phoenix before attending Georgia Southern University and the University of Tennessee.  While a collegiate golfer, the Phoenix-native competed in 40 tournaments and had nine Top 10 finishes. In 2019, Macioce participated in the LPGA and Symetra Tour Qualifying Tournament.

Action gets underway at 7 a.m. MST all three days with play starting off No. 1 and No. 10 tees in each round. A trophy presentation on No. 18 green is set to follow final round play.

Named in honor of the 13 women that established the LPGA in 1950 to pave the way for female golfers, The Founders Tribute is the second tournament of the Symetra Tour’s return to play following a four-month hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The FireKeepers Casino Hotel Championship at Battle Creek Country Club in Battle Creek, Mich., from July 24-26, was the official restart to the 2020 season.

Longbow Golf Club previously hosted the Symetra Tour Gateway Classic from 2013-2015 and in 2017. The 2015 event was particularly noteworthy as Hannah O’Sullivan became the youngest winner in Symetra Tour history (16 years, 9 months, 11 days) and retains the distinction as the youngest ever and most recent amateur to capture a Symetra Tour title.

Longbow Golf Club is managed by Troon Golf, the daily-fee and resort golf operating division of Troon.
