Castlewood Country Club’s Valley Course In Midst Of Bunker Renovation Project

Castlewood Country Club’s famed Valley Course is in the midst of a bunker renovation project. The project began on September 7th and is expected to be completed by the first week of December. Castlewood Director of Agronomy, Lou Silveira, and the Castlewood Golf Committee are overseeing the project, while crews from Heritage Links Golf Course Construction are performing the renovation work.

The bunker renovation project will enhance all Valley Course bunkers by adding new drainage, liners and sand to each bunker, thereby improving the overall playability of the bunkers. While the bunkers are being improved, the overall goal of Silveira and the Golf Committee is to maintain the integrity of the original course design and enhance the golf experience at Castlewood Country Club.

During the renovation project, 9 holes of the Valley Course will be closed at a time to allow for crews to access the course and work without interference. The front nine of the Valley Course is scheduled to be closed through mid-October. When the front nine is complete, the back nine will be closed for renovation work.
