Columbus Country Club: The Downeys

Scottsdale, Ariz. (February 29, 2016) Columbus Country Club, a private, family-oriented golf club in Columbus, Ohio, recently introduced the first short film in a five-part series highlighting what life is like at the club from the members’ perspectives.

The first short film in the series, titled “The Downeys,” explores the special relationship between a father and his son and the way the club and the game of golf has brought them closer together.

A total of five short films will be produced by Columbus Country Club. The second short film will be released later this month, the third in April, the fourth in June, and the fifth in August.

“We’re extremely proud of our new short film series and the way they document the legacy that lives within the club and highlight the rewarding lifestyle and experiences enjoyed by our members,” said Jay Frank, Columbus Country Club general manager. “Our members and our staff have really embraced the concept. We can’t thank the team at Anecdote Film Co. enough for the work they’ve put into this project.”

With its tree-lined fairways and immaculately-manicured greens, Columbus Country Club is a golfer’s paradise. Famed golf course designer Donald Ross artfully crafted a memorable stretch of turf and sand. But, Columbus Country Club is so much more than birdies, bogeys and pars. It’s a lifestyle unmatched, with members and their guests enjoying seasonal play on our tennis courts, frolicking with family in our captivating pool, and creating a lifetime of memories with a wedding, anniversary or birthday celebration in our richly-appointed Clubhouse, where menu selections abound.

With a rich history dating back to 1903, Columbus Country Club may be the oldest country club in Ohio, but it still provides members with a unique and unmatched modern lifestyle. Home to one of the game’s most notable tournaments, Columbus Country Club hosted the 1964 PGA Championship won by Bobby Nichols. While best known for its Donald Ross designed championship golf course, the club also boasts a nine-hole executive course along with eight tennis courts, large swimming pool, spacious clubhouse and a diverse entertainment calendar.
