Denieve Dixonnext to a golf car.Q: When you were young, what did you want to be when you grew up and please explain if there was a story around that.

A: I wanted to be a fashion designer, I use to love drawing and sewing in my younger days.  I also wanted to be a preschool teacher, I love kids.

Q: What is one or two interesting facts about your heritage that you would like to share with us?

A: I am part Scottish.

Q: Who got you into the business or game of golf and what was your first experience at a golf course/range?

A: I got myself into it, watching the movie Caddy Shack one Sunday at my parents’ house. It was then that I first thought about becoming a caddy – it was an outside job – I love nature and I love staying active, meeting new people and good earnings, to take care of my two daughters.

My first experience playing on the course was tragic 🤣. It was a uphill par 4 White Witch Golf Course Montego Bay Jamaica. I hit about 10 balls and couldn’t get over the water, I threw a tantrum like a 2 year old somehow the club hit my mouth and busted my bottom lip. Don’t know how it happened 🤔. Never threw another tantrum on the course.

Q: Was there a mentor that helped guide you along your current career path and was there a piece of advice that helped you along your way?

A: Adrian Lindo was my mentor when I first started, he always emphasized the need for patience and understanding.

Q: How long have you worked for Troon and what has been your career progression; what do you love most about your job?

A: I start working in 2004 as a caddie and two years later, I was certified as a trainer.  In 2009, I became an assistant manager and in 2011 I was promoted to Caddiemaster’s Program Manager.

Q: What do you do in your daily job or life to inspire minorities to get them interested in the game of golf or into the golf business as a career?

A: I have a sibling that works in an after-school program in the inner-city, I connected her with our GM this past summer and they are looking into doing some after school golf activities starting in spring. I have spoken to a few associates that work in different areas of our property, encouraging them they could do the Caddy work, it is great fun and you make great connections. I remind them that if they are in school, they have an opportunity to utilize the caddy scholarship plus make some good money.

Q: What is your dream foursome?

A: My foursome Tiger Woods, Dustin Johnson, and my favorite artist Drake. 😍
