The following is a post by Brett Brooks, manager of marketing communications at Troon Golf.

The Faldo Legacy Course at Roco Ki Golf Club is the latest Troon Golf course to open in the Dominican Republic. It also features the first Nick Faldo-designed golf course in the Caribbean.

Faldo recently visited Roco Ki to play the inaugural round, with director of golf operations Sergio Poo carrying his bag.

Here are some photos of the event, along with a quick description of the course. It was also just named one of the 2008 "Best New Courses" by T+L Golf. (If you are planning on dropping by Punta Cana in the DR sometime soon, you can make a tee time by calling 809-731-2824)

The first tee of The Faldo Legacy Course gives players a panoramic view of their journey—the headlands, mangroves and the spectacular ocean. On the third hole, golfers descend into a tropical sanctuary where the centuries-old mangroves line the fairways. As players complete the 15th hole, they return to the sea and encounter two of the most visually stunning golf holes in the world. The incredible 17th hole, named El Caiman and the 18th hole, Los Dos Rezos (The Two Prayers) named justifiably so for the two carries over water before reaching the green. Nick Faldo commented, "If your golf game isn't the best, bring your camera—because you'll get a great picture."
