Hola to Juan Carlos Gonzalez one of our newest members of the Ocean Course Houala team.
Juan is a first generation American whose parents are from Mexico and El Salavador. Juan’s first language is Spanish and learned to speak English from watching TV!
Juan’s family settled in Las Vegas when he was nine and he stated that growing up in Vegas was basically one huge party, so naturally Juan gravitated to working in the hospitality industry, working for casinos such as Red Rock and Wynn. Juan eventually found his passion for health and fitness and started working for a gym in Vegas where eventually he was recruited to Kauai.
Juan comes to us with an extensive health, fitness and hospitality background. For the last seven years Juan has been growing and developing gyms and their communities here on Kauai. Coaching, mentoring and creating fun workout programs for all ages keiki to kupuna through @kealafoundation. Collecting several certifications in fitness such as weightlifting, gymnastics, breathwork and most recently TPI Golf Fitness + many more. He started at the Ocean Course earlier this year in our Food & Beverage department, mixing up fun drinks and creating memorable events at the facility.
During the last few years on Kauai, Juan has fallen in love with the game of golf and is looking to transfer all of his skills and passion towards our Hokuala Golf community. Juan shares that his dream is to work in Latin America and teach in Spanish as a PGA Golf Professional one day. We are excited to announce the promotion of Juan to the Assistant Golf Professional position and look forward to helping him develop and showcase his skill here at @golfhokuala @timberskauai
