Lee Shurden Named Director of Golf For Cider Ridge Golf Club

Honours Golf, the premier golf management company in the Southeastern United States and subsidiary of Troon, is pleased to announce that Lee Shurden has been named Director of Golf/Club Manager for Cider Ridge Golf Club, an 18-hole public golf facility in Oxford, Ala. In his new position at Cider Ridge, Shurden will oversee the entire club operations, implement new operational standards, enhance the guest experience, grow group outing sales, and develop new players.

“Lee Shurden has grown within our company and proven himself a valuable asset to the Honours Golf team,” said Bob Barrett, Honours Golf CEO. “He will bring a new perspective to the day-to-day management of the club and will provide a quality golf experience to the patrons of Cider Ridge.”

Shurden started his career with Honours Golf as a golf operations intern for the award-winning Kelly Plantation Golf Club in Destin, Fla. He later interned at Peninsula Golf and Racquet Club in Gulf Shores, Ala. while continuing his studies at Mississippi State University (MSU). Upon graduation from MSU, Shurden returned to Honours Golf full-time as an assistant golf professional at Limestone Springs Golf Club. He was later promoted to head golf professional for Honours’ flagship properties at World Golf Village Resort – the King & Bear and Slammer & Squire golf courses.

“Starting my career early on as an intern for Honours Golf enabled me to learn all the facets of club management along with the importance of delivering exceptional customer experiences,” said Shurden. “I consider it a privilege to have learned the business of golf from industry leaders here at Honours Golf, and I value the friendships I’ve made along the way. I look forward to bringing fresh ideas, innovative programs and proven operational practices to Cider Ridge.”

Shurden is Class A PGA Professional and a graduate of Mississippi State University with a bachelor’s degree in business administration and marketing. In his free time, Shurden enjoys playing the guitar and watching college and professional football. He and his wife Miranda are in the process of relocating to the area.
