Lunar New Year Celebrated at Els Club Desaru Coast

The Els Club Desaru Coast has been celebrating the Lunar New Year with traditional food and activities for guests and associates. Throughout the Lunar New Year, traditional decorations could be seen around the golf club including the Golf Shop and Big Easy restaurant. The traditional “Prosperity Yee Sang” appetizer was also served to guests during the celebrations.

On the last day of the Lunar New Year, the 15th day, a traditional lion dance performance by local dancers took place at Ocean and Valley Courses.

The lion dance plays a vital role as a traditional ceremony and is used to bless the area and shower it with prosperity. The pomelo, lettuce, and tangerines were presented to the lion as a symbol of good luck. The lion dancers paraded through the clubhouse, from the lobby to each outlet.
