Manchester Country Club Receives AGM Platinum Award

Prestigious local club recognized at PGA Show as first-time recipient

Bedford, N.H. (February 3, 2016) – Manchester Country Club (MCC) was recognized at the 2016 PGA Merchandise Show last week in Orlando, Fla. as a first-time recipient of the Association of Golf Merchandisers’ (AGM) Platinum Award for Golf Shop Operations. The only golf club receiving this honor in northern New England, Manchester Country Club joins the company of premiere golf clubs Pinehurst Resort, Pinehurst, N.C.; Grayhawk Golf Club, Scottsdale, Ariz.; Congressional Country Club, Bethesda, Md.; and Medinah Country Club, Medinah, Ill.

AGM Platinum Award entries are judged by an impartial panel on a number of categories, including creative ideas, adaptability, revenue-generating initiatives, promotions and visual displays. MCC was recognized for its newest addition to the club, which debuted in February 2015—a 3,250-square-foot space affectionately called, “The Attic,” a unique indoor golf performance and entertainment space situated above the golf shop. The Attic, featuring an aboutGolf PGA TOUR simulator measuring 24 feet in width and 12 feet in height, is the first of its kind in New England. Additional space in The Attic was developed into a premier indoor practice and teaching center geared towards golfer development. This space showcases the latest technologies including TrackMan Golf launch monitor, JC Video Systems and Life Fitness equipment.

“As a first-time recipient of this coveted award we’re ecstatic about this recognition from the golf industry,” said Brian Kelley, General Manager of MCC. “It’s a true testament to the foresight of our membership and hard work of our entire staff, all of whom were integral to the amazing transformation of our golf house.”

“In just its first year The Attic has shown financial progress for our club,” said Kelley, “but more importantly, The Attic will carry MCC into the future, offering our members an interactive year-round social environment with the game of golf at the core.”

Manchester Country Club is managed by Troon Privé, the private club division of Troon, the world’s largest golf management company, with more than 250 golf courses in its portfolio. MCC is one of twelve Troon properties that received the nod from AGM this year. And of those twelve, MCC was one of three Troon-managed private clubs.
