Chandler, Arizona—Noah Kumar (Sarasota, FL) shot a final round 68 (-4) to finish 54 holes at -10 and win the Palo Verde Amateur at Whirlwind Golf Club on the Cattail Course.  Kumar, the 36-hole leader, had to hold off a hard-charging Gavin Hagstrom (Fort Collins, CO), who shot a final round 69 to finish three shots behind Kumar.  Hagstrom tied Kumar for the lead several times and was only two shots back heading into the 18th hole today but a bogey lead to the final three-shot gap.  Hagstrom finishing four shots ahead of Cade Anderson (Scottsdale) in third place

KUMAR ON THE WIN:  “This win means a lot to me because it gets my name out there to coaches.  I am currently in the transfer portal and I want to continue my college career at a competitive program.  I’ve been hitting the ball really well the past few weeks and it really paid off during the tournament.  I’ve (also) worked a lot on my putting and the last few months and I’m finally starting to see that pay off under pressure.”
