Pineapple Grill At Kapalua Resort Reopens And Relaunches Under Troon Management

New menus, new breakfast service, new TroonFIT menu offerings, new signature drinks and more, usher in new era for award-winning West Maui Restaurant

Kapalua Resort, Maui (June 3, 2016) – The Pineapple Grill Restaurant, located at The Bay Course Clubhouse at the Kapalua Resort officially reopened under new management on Friday June 3, 2016. Troon®, the world’s largest golf and hospitality management company, has assumed management and operations of the award-winning West Maui eatery. The Pineapple Grill adds to Troon’s robust food and beverage division that manages more than 90 restaurants located at golf resorts, private clubs, daily fee golf courses and recreational facilities around the world.

During the recent transition period, the ownership of Pineapple Grill, Troon and the culinary team developed new menus for the restaurant, upgraded kitchen equipment, implemented new service standards and enhancements that will provide an immediate and positive first impression. The Troon food and beverage team worked with Chef Robert Barrera to identify and enhance the restaurants most popular items, while introducing some new offerings that will add further appeal.

As part of the new re-launch the Pineapple Grill will now be open for breakfast to better serve both golf guests, resort visitors and Kama’aina. The new breakfast menu includes a blend of breakfast favorites from Jumbo Egg Sandwich, Huevos Rancheros to island favorites such as the Maui Cattle Company Half Pound Loco.

After breakfast hours, the Pineapple Grill will offer a unique “all day menu” that will run during traditional lunch hours and into evening hours. This menu features entrée items that include island favorites but offer casual options that all members of the family will enjoy.

The Pineapple Grill’s refreshed Pupu menu will be popular during the afternoon, Happy Hour and into the evening. While traditional favorites remain on the Pineapple Grill Pupu menu (such as Crispy Calamari, Soft Pretzel Sticks, and Blue Crab Cakes), new additions were added in Fresh Island Ceviche with local Mahi Mahi and a new Poke Bowl on a bed of furikake rice.

“While we are keeping many of the popular menu items that have made Pineapple Grill a Maui favorite, we have added new wrinkles that are certain to be favorites of the West Maui dining scene,” said Carlos Acosta, corporate food & beverage director, Troon. “For example, the popular Maui’s Best Backed Mac and Cheese remains on the menu but there is now the option to pile on fresh Kalua Pork to this popular pupu.”

New additions to the Pineapple Grill menu include TroonFIT items that cater to those looking for healthy options. Additionally, the Pineapple Grill will be unveiling a new signature punch cocktail that will be certain to become a “must sample” when dining around West Maui.

Along with the re-launch of Pineapple Grill comes an introduction of a new Pineapple Grill Happy Hour. Available daily from 2:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., this Happy Hour will offer punch and cocktail specials (priced at $6), draft beer selections ($6), red and white wine ($7) and an offering of ten different pupu selections priced under $10.

Troon also unveiled a fresh new website for the restaurant offering additional details, menus and featuring real-time online reservations at www.PineappleGrillMaui.com.

Current summer operating hours for Pineapple Grill have the restaurant open daily for breakfast from 6:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. during weekdays (6:30 AM to 12 PM on weekends) and transition to the all-day menu that will be offered from 11 AM to 8 PM (12 PM to 8 PM on weekends).
