GOLF DIGEST NAMES NINE TROON-MANAGED COURSES TO LIST OF AMERICA’S GREATEST GOLF COURSES

Scottsdale, Ariz. – Troon,® the leader in upscale golf course management, development and marketing is pleased to announce that nine of its managed courses were recognized on Golf Digest’s list of America’s greatest courses in the February 2013 issue. The biennial list ranked The Golf Club at Black Rock in Idaho and Kapalua (Plantation) in Hawaii on the coveted list of “America’s 100 Greatest Golf Courses.”

Golf Digest also ranked six additional Troon courses to its list of “America’s 100 Greatest Public Golf Courses” and also honored both courses at Pronghorn in Oregon on its first-ever list of “America’s Second 100 Greatest Golf Courses.” Notable mentions on the public course list include Bayside Resort Golf Club in Delaware for improving its ranking from 2011, as well as Maderas Golf Club in California and Makai Golf Club at Princeville in Hawaii for making the list for the first time.

There were 25 Troon-managed courses also named to Golf Digest’s “Best in State” list that included both private and daily-fee courses. Facilities that improved their previous state-by-state ranking include Troon North Golf Club (Pinnacle) in Arizona, Lake of Isles in Connecticut, Bayside Resort Golf Club and Fieldstone Golf Club in Delaware, and Makai Golf Club at Princeville (Makai) in Hawaii. New to the list compared to 2011 include The Club at Cordillera (Valley) in Colorado, Maderas Golf Club in California, and The Westin La Cantera Hill Country Resort (Palmer) in Texas. The state-by-state ranking lists six Troon-managed courses at No.1 among those “Open to the Public” and eight more that made the top five in the same category.
