KING KAMEHAMEHA GOLF CLUB WELCOMES NEW GENERAL MANAGER

Maui, Hawaii (October 6, 2021) – The King Kamehameha Golf Club in Maui, Hawaii recently welcomed Wendell Inamasu as the private club’s new general manager. Inamasu returns to the club he helped open in May of 2006, as he served as The King Kamehameha Club’s golf operations manager from September 2005 through December 2012. As general manager, Inamasu will oversee all elements of the club, including facilities, programming, staff training and development, and membership sales.

Inamasu has 38 years of golf and hospitality industry experience, most recently serving in general manager positions for Destination Residences Hawaii, a vacation rental property management company. Throughout his career Inamasu has been passionate about providing outstanding service to members, guests and residences. His relationships within the Maui hospitality and golf communities are deep having worked in management positions at Aston Hotels and Resorts’ Maui properties, as well as at Wailea Golf Club.

“It feels like I’m returning home after opening The King Kamehameha Golf Club 15 years ago,” said Inamasu. “I am grateful to join the Troon ohana and reconnect with the owner, members, and associates.”

Born and raised in Maui, Inamasu has a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree from the University of Hawaii at Manoa School of Travel Industry Management.

“We are excited to welcome Wendell back to The King Kamehameha Golf Club,” said Alex Nakajima, operations leader, Troon. “Wendell’s extensive hospitality background and commitment to the member/guest experience have already been well received and welcomed by members.”

Nestled into the West Maui Mountains, The King Kamehameha Golf Club is a home away from home to members from around the globe. The pure golf experience has no homes, resorts, or roads around the course to block the panoramic views of Mt. Haleakalā and bi-coastal views of the Pacific Ocean. The golf course was originally designed by Ted Robinson, Sr. and later refreshed by his son, Ted Robinson, Jr., using their three core design elements of flexibility, memorability, and natural beauty. Based on skill levels, members and guests can attack from any of the five sets of tees while the golf course defends its self with challenging bunker placements, tiered greens, and five spectacular water features.

The King Kamehameha Golf Club is also home to one of the most beautiful and unique clubhouses in the world. A modification of a Frank Lloyd Wright home design, the 74,778 square foot clubhouse is filled with artwork honoring those who have come before by creating a cultural sense of place. The history of the area is brought to life with spectacular displays of art throughout the building.

The King Kamehameha Golf Club is proudly managed by Troon Privé, the private club operating division of Troon. For more information on The King Kamehameha Golf Club, visit www.kamehamehagolf.com or call 808-249-0033.
