NEW HEAD GOLF INSTRUCTOR On BOARD At KIERLAND GOLF CLUB

SCOTTSDALE, AZ – With professional golf tour experience and impressive teaching credentials, Valley-based PGA golf teaching professional Ken Carpenter recently signed on as Head Golf Instructor for the Troon Golf Institute at Kierland Golf Club, the popular 27-hole Troon Golf facility in north central Scottsdale.

“Ken’s presence on the lesson tee contributes significantly to the full range of services we provide,” said Dale Balvin, Troon Golf Facility Manager for Kierland Golf Club. “Between his ability as a player and his complete knowledge of the golf swing, golfers of every skill level can expect to play a better game under Ken’s expert instruction.”

Carpenter makes the move to Kierland Golf Club following a three-year stint at Rio Verde Golf Club, Fountain Hills, AZ, where he developed and conducted golf schools and clinics under his own name. Coincidentally, prior to that, Carpenter worked at several renowned golf facilities that are now managed by Troon Golf – The Westin Innisbrook Resort, Tampa Bay, FL. and Sheraton Tamarron Resort, Durango, CO. He also worked previously with Troon Golf Institute Director Tim Mahoney in the Golf Digest mini-schools.

“Needless to say, I feel right at home in my new surroundings at Kierland,” says Carpenter. “I certainly share the same commitment to excellence and high standards that are so apparent in the Troon Golf Institute.”

As a professional competitor, Carpenter has played with success in a number of PGA Section open events, as well as the first stages of the PGA Tour “Q” school and the 1999 Phoenix Open. He was the 1995 Ballatrix Open champion, won the 1997 Colorado Springs, Colorado and Provo, Utah Opens, and was a 5-time winner on the Western State Tour circuit, as well as a member of the Canadian PGA Tour in 1998.

As Head Golf Instructor at Kierland, Carpenter will offer the full complement of golf instruction from private lessons to drop-in clinics, as well as special programs designed especially for corporate golf outings. He will also offer professional club fitting services for several top brand equipment manufacturers such as PING, Cobra, Titleist, and Taylor Made, and continue to develop the popular Kierland Kids’ Club Junior Golf Program and other golf instruction programs already in place.

The Troon Golf Institute is the embodiment of the golf teaching and learning philosophy imparted at every Troon Golf facility. While the programs and methods may vary from one facility to the next, Troon Golf Institute instructors’ knowledge of fundamental golf techniques and their ability to effectively convey their expertise is as dependable as the “Troon Golf Experience” itself.
