NEWLY RENOVATED AND EXPANDED RIO VERDE COMMUNITY CENTER DEBUTS

Rio Verde, Ariz. (December 7, 2021) – A newly renovated and expanded Rio Verde Community Center recently opened in Rio Verde, Ariz. The renovation began in February 2021 and was completed in October, ahead of schedule and under budget.  The Community Center is open to all residents of Rio Verde and is part of the Rio Verde Community Association.

The Community Center now includes a new 2,500-square-foot fitness center with new fitness equipment, remodeled restroom facilities, new administrative offices, and new flooring, paint, and lighting in hallway areas. The entrance was also enhanced to meet ADA requirements, the former computer learning facility was converted into a billiards/game room and parking lot lights were added.

Planning for the Community Center renovation began in 2016 with years of input from the community. The final design and budget were approved by the Rio Verde Community Association Board of Directors in the fall of 2020. Funding for additional Phase II renovation work, including initial design work and engineering, was approved by the Rio Verde Community Center Board of Directors in October 2021. Phase II of the project will address the remaining areas of the Community Center that were untouched in Phase I, including the previously existing 1,500-square-foot fitness facility which will receive new flooring and paint.

“The Rio Verde Community Association strives to maintain facilities that address the needs and desires of the community,” said Rio Verde resident and Chairman of the Capital Projects Implementation Committee, Tom Stegmann. “Our goal is to look to the future and make sure current facilities can flexibly address future needs of residents.”
