PAUL STRINGER HEADS BACK TO THE DESERT

Scottsdale, Arizona – After spearheading the business development and operations of Troon Golf Australia during a two-year assignment “down under,” Paul Stringer returns to Troon Golf’s Scottsdale Headquarters to assume the role of Senior Vice President, Acquisition and Development.

In his new capacity, Stringer will be responsible for pursuing acquisition and development opportunities for Troon Golf. He will report to Tim Schantz, Executive Vice President, Acquisition and Development.

Prior to joining the company in 1996, Stringer had been involved in the golf industry for 15 years including serving on the Southwest Section PGA Board of Directors for two terms. Stringer joined Troon Golf as the General Manager at The Golf Club at Vistoso in Tucson, Arizona. He was soon promoted to Regional Manager for Southwestern Arizona and Southern California, overseeing properties such as The Westin Mission Hills in Rancho Mirage, California and The Westin La Paloma in Tucson, Arizona.

In September 1998, Stringer was promoted to Senior Vice President, Troon Golf Australia and relocated to Sydney. During his tenure in Australia, Stringer signed Pelican Waters Golf Club in Queensland as Troon Golf Australia’s first development contract and the highly ranked Yarra Yarra Golf Club in Victoria as the first private club Troon Golf Australia operated. Other properties in the portfolio include The Golf Club Kennedy Bay in Perth, Brookwater Golf Club in Queensland, and The Vintage Golf Club in New South Wales.

“I have enjoyed my experience in Australia and look forward to a new challenge in my career by returning to Scottsdale. It is an exciting time for Troon Golf as the company expands into new regions of North America and new countries,” said Stringer. “In my new role, I hope to add to the global growth and success of our company.”

“Paul’s efforts in Australia helped to make Troon Golf Australia a big presence in the Southern Hemisphere,” said Tim Schantz. “Paul’s operations background and business development expertise will be highly beneficial to Troon Golf’s expansion in North America. We are fortunate to have him back.”

Based in Scottsdale, Arizona, Troon Golf represents over 80 management and development contracts in 16 American states and nine countries.
