QUINTERO NAMES PAUL SKELTON AS GENERAL MANAGER

SCOTTSDALE, AZ – Troon Golf, the world’s leading luxury golf management, development, and marketing company, recently announced the appointment of Paul Skelton as General Manager of Quintero Golf & Country Club, the new 36-hole private club development currently under construction northwest of Phoenix near Lake Pleasant. Quintero falls under Privé, a division of Troon Golf created expressly for the management of Private Clubs of Distinction.

Well-known and respected throughout the Arizona golf industry, Mr. Skelton moved to Arizona in 1973 from Champaign, Illinois and has held positions at several prestigious facilities including Tucson National Golf Resort, Skyline Country Club, Troon Golf & Country Club and most recently as General Manager for Hassayampa Golf & Country Club in Prescott.

“As the opening day of Quintero grows nearer, we are fortunate to have a gentleman of Paul’s vast experience on board,” said Quintero spokesman Tom Colceri. “His range of expertise is unique to this industry and we are looking forward to his experience at Quintero.”

In addition to his acclaimed 20-year career in club operations and food and beverage, Skelton recently completed his term as President of the Club Manager’s Association of America. This prestigious appointment challenged Skelton to play a pivotal role in elevating the standards of club operations for the industry as a whole.

“As Troon Golf expands its management and development operations to include private facilities the caliber of Quintero, we are fortunate to be able to rely on the talents of dynamic individuals such as Mr. Skelton,” said Troon Golf Chairman, Dana Garmany. “We are extremely grateful to have Paul on the Privé team.”

Quintero spared no expense when contracting course architects. The Founder’s Club, the first of the two golf courses at Quintero Golf & Country Club, was designed by Rees Jones and will open in the fall of 2000. The second layout, the Charter’s Course, designed by Greg Norman, is in the design stages as part of Phase III following the completion of the clubhouse.
