Indio, Calif. (March 8, 2023) – Sandra Palmer, a 19-time LPGA Tour winner and current Player Development Ambassador at Shadow Hills Golf Club in Indio, has been elected to the World Golf Hall of Fame.  The 2024 World Golf Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony will be held Monday, June 10, 2024 at Pinehurst Resort & Country Club in the Village of Pinehurst, N.C. coinciding with the 124th U.S. Open Championship.

Palmer, who became a member of the LPGA Tour in 1964 and won two majors among her 19 Tour wins, joined the Shadow Hills team in December 2022. As the Player Development Ambassador, she provides instruction, offers player development programs to Shadow Hills’ homeowners and works closely with Head Golf Professional Terry Ferraro, PGA in the golf shop.

Palmer learned of her World Golf Hall of Fame induction the morning of March 8th and had this to say, “I’m overcome with emotion and very grateful. It gives me an opportunity to thank the people that have helped me along the way.  I just couldn’t believe it when I got the call, this is my sixth time to be nominated.  What an incredible group of women that I played with over the years. I’m definitely going to have some champagne. It’s one of those times that you sit down and your whole career comes before you.  I think about the people along the way that I’d like to thank.”

In addition to Palmer, the 2024 Hall of Fame class includes Padraig Harrington along with the late Johnny Farrell, Beverly Hanson, Tom Weiskopf and the 13 LPGA Founders.

As for her role at Shadow Hills Golf Club, Palmer explained, “I’m excited to help promote golf at Shadow Hills and help our residents play better. I’m thrilled to work with the great team here and with Troon.”

“On behalf of the entire Shadow Hills Golf Club team, we are thrilled to congratulate Sandra on this incredible accomplishment,” said Shadow Hills Golf Club’s General Manager Phil Vigil, PGA. “In addition to her incredible golf accomplishments, Sandra is a Hall of Fame person, who is awesome with our residents and guests.”
