SIX TROON GOLF-MANAGED COURSES NAMED TO GOLF DIGEST’S “100 BEST LIST”
Scottsdale, Ariz. – Troon Golf,® the leader in upscale golf course management, development and marketing is thrilled to recognize five of its managed facilities for being recognized as some of “America’s 100 Greatest Public Courses” by Golf Digest, in the publication’s May 2005 issue. Making their debut on the list are both the Quarry and Legend courses at Giants Ridge Golf & Ski Resort in Biwabik, Minnesota. In operation for less than two years, the Quarry, a Jeffrey Brauer design that debuted at No. 16 on the list, has been the subject of numerous accolades and much acclaim.

No. 59 – Branson Creek Golf Club, Branson, MO
No. 76 – Troon North Golf Club (Monument), Scottsdale, AZ
No. 82 – Old Works, Anaconda, MT
No. 88 – Giants Ridge Golf & Ski Resort (the Legend), Biwabik, MN
For the first time in the history of the biennial survey, courses located outside the United States have been included. The Ailsa course at The Westin Turnberry Resort in Ayrshire, Scotland debuted on Golf Digest’s list of “The 100 Best Courses Outside the U.S.” at No. 11.

The Golf Digest Course Rating Panel is composed of more than 800 low-handicap men and women. The panel evaluates courses on eight criteria, giving each a scale of 1-10 (1 being unacceptable to poor – 10 being absolutely perfect). The categories include: Shot Values, Resistance to Scoring, Design Variety, Memorability, Aesthetics, Conditioning, Ambience and Walkability.
