THE GROVE MAKES FINAL TOUCHES FOR THE WORLD’S TOP 50 GOLFERS

Scottsdale, Ariz. – With less than one week to go until the world’s top golfers descend upon London, England for the World Golf Championship – American Express Championship, The Grove, host of this year’s tournament, is making the final touches for what is sure to be a great event! With the last golfers playing the course the second week of September, this “rest period” will ensure that conditioning of the course is the best it can possibly be and set the standard by which all future Championships will be measured!

Fifty of the world’s top golfers will take to the course from September 28 to October 1, 2006 — a first — as the World Golf Championship has never before been contested in the United Kingdom. Adding to the excitement of this year’s championship will be watching Tiger Woods go for his sixth (6th) straight PGA tour win in 2006.

From the day it opened in September 2003, The Grove has been in the spotlight. The former home of the Earls of Clarendon has been transformed into a contemporary country estate, with not only the 18-hole golf course, but also a five-star luxury hotel and spa, surrounded by 300 acres of private grounds. The magnificent golf course, the work of Kyle Phillips, quickly received high praise from experts and enthusiasts who have seen its layout. The legendary Gary Player, who often stops by for a visit commented: “The Grove just keeps getting better and better!”

The World Golf Championship-American Express Championship will be broadcast in over 140 countries around the world. In the United States, ABC and ESPN will be airing both live and tape-delayed coverage Thursday, September 28 through Sunday, October 1.
