Scottsdale, Ariz. – Troon Golf,® the leader in upscale golf course management, development and marketing is pleased to announce the agreement to manage the historic El Macero Country Club, a private club established in 1961 in Northern California.

The current course at El Macero, located outside of Davis, Calif., was built by golf course architect Robert Baldock. Baldock transformed what was once open farmland into the par-72 championship course that now winds its way through tree-lined fairways and stately homes. El Macero has been designed to challenge players of every skill level and has grown accustomed to hosting local, regional and statewide tournaments throughout its long history. Those tournaments have included US Open qualifying matches and US Open Senior qualifying matches. Over the past two years, the club has hosted a pro-am event and only three professional golfers have been able to break par on the 6,800 yard layout.

“Troon Golf is excited to partner with El Macero Country Club,” stated Hud Hinton, president and COO, Troon Golf. “We are confident that our management practices will contribute positively to the club’s long-established reputation.”

El Macero Country Club not only provides its members a course with the best playing surfaces in the area, but also offers formal and informal dining areas, a golf shop, a full size swimming pool and tennis courts.

“We are confident that El Macero Country Club will experience continued success by partnering with Troon Golf and we look forward to the benefits of their management and agronomy expertise,” said William Owen, president and board member of El Macero Country Club. “Troon Golf will help us reach our goal of providing the very best of golf and member services.”
