TROON GOLF NAMES JOHN SAUTER TO NEW POST

Anticipating rapid growth in several new directions, the Board of Directors of Troon Golf, the industry leader in golf management, development, and marketing, has created a new position within the company. John Sauter has been named President and Chief Strategy Officer in charge of Troon Golf’s Acquisition and Investment strategies.

“In an effort to maintain the incredible year over year growth of the company, it no longer seemed possible for one person to be responsible for new business, investment strategies, and corporate operations,” said Troon Golf Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Dana Garmany. “We will continue to aggressively pursue third party management opportunities, but we will also be increasing our real estate acquisition activity. In addition, we are focused on several new ventures that will leverage the incredible buying power of our customer base.”

Garmany, who founded Troon Golf in 1990 went on to say, “John has gained valuable operating experience during his tenure as Chief Operating Officer and has helped us build the most experienced and creative management team in golf.”

Hud Hinton, a 25 year veteran of the hospitality business and most recently Executive Vice President of Starwood Resorts & Hotels Worldwide, will now be in charge of the day-to-day operations of the company as President and Chief Operating Officer.

“I see so many possibilities and opportunities for this company,” said Sauter. “We have assembled the highest quality portfolio in the history of the golf business. We will continue to add the best courses, attract the best customers, and take care of those customers better than anybody else. To date, the trust we have built with our customers has permitted us to create the first luxury brand in golf. In the future, I see that trust allowing the company to produce profits from a wide variety of businesses and ventures never before available to a golf course management company.”

Additional highlights to Mr. Sauter’s tenure with Troon Golf include leading the acquisition of the legendary Turnberry Hotel, Golf Courses and Spa in Ayshire, Scotland, attracting the investment firm Goldman, Sachs and Company as a partner in Troon Golf, and vigorously promoting the company’s branding strategy.

Based in Scottsdale, Arizona, Troon Golf’s list of prestigious properties includes Troon North Golf Club, Scottsdale, Arizona; The Ridge Course at Castle Pines North, Castle Rock, Colorado; Eagle Ridge Inn & Resort, Galena, Illinois; and Yarra Yarra Golf Club, Melbourne, Australia.
