TROON GOLF SELECTED TO MANAGE GAOLIGONG GOLF CLUB, CHINA

Scottsdale, Ariz. – Troon Golf,® the leader in upscale golf course management, development and marketing is pleased to announce it has been appointed by the Hengyi Group to manage Gaoligong Golf Club in China.

Phase one of Gaoligong Golf Club, located in the Yunnan Province of China, will be an 18-hole championship course designed by the renowned JFO Design. Gaoligong Golf Club will be the first golf course within the Gaoligong International Tourist City project complementing the grand scale development, which will eventually include 72 holes of golf, an ecological residential area, five-star hotel, equestrian centre and theme park.

To celebrate the new addition of Gaoligong Golf Club to Troon Golf’s portfolio, a signing ceremony was recently held during the China Golf Show in Beijing. In attendance was the Hengyi Group’s owner and chairman Duan Zhikui, project director Laurence Marino, and Troon Golf Australia-Asia-Pacific managing director and senior vice president Ryan Walls. The event also attracted attention from the golf media, industry professionals and other show attendees.

The 7,000-yard layout is set in the midst of the mountains featuring dramatic views over the township of Tengchong and is designed for strategic and creative shot-making with forced carries and small target areas. “Hengyi is very pleased to team up with Troon Golf on our new golf and residential development in Tengchong, Yunnan,” commented Marino. “Our goal at Gaoligong is to offer one of China’s finest golf courses, and we are confident that Troon Golf will help us achieve this goal by delivering the highest international standards in the areas of operation management and course maintenance.”
