TROON GOLF To MANAGE THE GOLF CLUB AT BOULDER RIDGE

Scottsdale, Arizona -The long-time residential developers and owners of The Golf Club at Boulder Ridge, in San Jose, California, Rocke and Glenda Garcia, have contracted Troon Golf, the recognized world leader in upscale golf course management, development and marketing, to manage the private club operations and oversee the remaining construction of the course.

The prestigious agronomic conditions combined with first-class service that make up the ‘Troon Golf Experience,’ will now be available to the members though Privé, Troon Golf’s Private Clubs of Distinction.

“It has taken us over 10 years to see our vision of Boulder Ridge as a reality,” said Rocke Garcia, owner, The Golf Club at Boulder Ridge. “By selecting Troon Golf to help us bring it all to fruition, we are guaranteed to provide a relaxed and inviting private club experience of the highest quality to all members and guests.”

The Golf Club at Boulder Ridge is a freestanding facility, bearing no association with housing developments or residential communities. The banner headline reads “Golf As It Should Be.” The course is set in the boulder-strewn hills of the Almaden area on a crest overlooking northern California’s characteristic grassy hill country. The golf course winds dramatically through the remains of the granite quarry once utilized in the construction of Stanford University, in nearby Palo Alto. In breathtaking surroundings, the course plays gracefully through stands of live oak trees, large boulder outcroppings, and picturesque water features, promising one of the most memorable golf challenges.

The golf course is the work of Brad Benz, an accomplished golf course architect working out of San Jose. Among Benz’s most significant design is the Beijing Golf Club, the first private golf club ever built in the People’s Republic of China, which he designed in collaboration with his former partner, Mike Poellot. Other golf course projects by Benz include the Northgate Golf Club, Reno, Nevada, and the Norcenter Golf Club, Aminnefors, Finland.

“We are especially pleased to introduce our distinctive Privé brand of private club management to the members of this innovative project,” said Troon Golf Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Dana Garmany. “When Boulder Ridge opens this September, members will enjoy immaculate championship playing conditions every time they step up to the tee, as well as our highly refined member services.”

The Golf Club at Boulder Ridge will be limited to 400 memberships. Sales begin in April 2001. For further information contact The Golf Club at Boulder Ridge, 408-779-0674.
