WHIRLWIND GOLF CLUB TO HOST MILES FORE KIDS 5K FUN RUN/WALK TO RAISE FUNDS FOR PHOENIX CHILDREN’S HOSPITAL
Unique Fun Run/Walk Presented By TroonFIT Takes Place on the Golf Course
Scottsdale, Ariz. – Whirlwind Golf Club at Wild Horse Pass is hosting Miles Fore Kids, a 5K fun run/walk benefiting Phoenix Children’s Hospital on Saturday, November 16, 2013 at 7:30 a.m.
Miles Fore Kids, presented by TroonFIT, Whirlwind Golf Club and Startline Racing will offer walkers and runners a truly unique experience, with the race taking place on the actual golf course itself. The event will include a one-mile kid’s dash the morning of the race as well. Proceeds from Miles Fore Kids will benefit Phoenix Children’s Hospital and add to the contribution Whirlwind Golf Club is providing through Troon’s “Hit the Green for PCH” program that involves 14 Troon facilities in Arizona raising a goal amount of $50,000 from now through November 17.
Registration for the 5K Run/Walk is just $20 if registered prior to October 29, $30 until November 9, $35 until November 14 and $40 on race day. Registration for the one-mile kid’s dash is just $10 through November 14 and $15 on race day. All participants will receive a custom race tech shirt and custom finisher’s medal.
“We really wanted to find a way to utilize our golf course differently to raise money for Phoenix Children’s Hospital while at the same time supporting our TroonFIT initiative to provide health focused fitness opportunities for golfers and non-golfers alike,” stated Marty Hoeffken, general manager of Whirlwind Golf Club. “We are looking forward to hosting a great morning of fitness while raising much needed funds for PCH.”
