Pualani Daniels, Groundskeeper, Volcano Golf Course, Hawaii
“In June of 1989, I started working for the golf maintenance department at the Mauna Lani Francis I‘I Brown golf course under the supervision of Neil Bustamante. I operated machines for the greens, tees, fairways, sand traps and the roughs.
I was also the daily cup cutter on the greens and even did the holes for the Senior Skins events for the best: Arnold Palmer, Raymond Floyd, Jack Nicklaus, Lee Trevino and Tom Watson to name a few.
I’ve come out of retirement now to help out at Volcano Golf Course, which is now in my backyard. I really enjoy working for Jay, our Assistant Superintendent and happy to help out.
I also play the game and I enjoy taking care of the courses that I play.”
Editor’s note: Pualani is quite the golfer!
