IF EL DORADO, ARKANSAS, doesn’t jump out in your mind as a hotspot for golf, you haven’t been to Mystic Creek Golf Club. Recognized as the Number 1 “Golf Course You Can Play in Arkansas” by Golfweek in both 2019 and 2020, the club recently celebrated the opening of an impressive new clubhouse.
“The new clubhouse is the fulfillment of a dream we have had since 2013,” said General Manager Cody Lack. “We are excited to have one of the best golf courses in the state of Arkansas and now we have a clubhouse to match it.”
The new clubhouse is fast proving to be a popular gathering place, both for golfers looking to recharge after a round on the award-winning course, and with with locals who come to enjoy the full-service bar and creative dining experience at The Grille at Mystic Creek. There, a panoramic window view of the course with additional outdoor seating overlooks the finishing hole.
Open Tuesday-Sunday, The Grille offers full-service lunch and dinner, with a seasonal menu and chef’s specials featuring regional cuisine and locally sourced products. From the bar, crafted cocktails utilize the freshest of juices and inspired by the classics. Grille patrons also enjoy three large screen TVs to watch the week’s tournament or sporting event.
Designed by DLR Group out of Cleveland, Ohio, additional highlights of the new 9,000-square-foot clubhouse include a well-appointed golf shop with the latest golf equipment and apparel and men’s and women’s locker rooms.
Mystic Creek Golf Club is an 18-hole Kenneth Dye Jr.-designed course managed by Troon’s Honours Golf division. Open since May 2013, the course features cathedral pines similar to Augusta National, high-flashed bunkers similar to those designed by A.W Tillinghast, and domed greens with runoffs similar to Pinehurst No. 2.
Just after opening in 2013, the semiprivate course was named one of the “Best New Courses” by Golf Digest. With impeccable course conditions and outstanding service, Mystic Creek Golf Club continues to be recognized as the region’s premier course. The facility proudly hosts the Symetra Tour’s Murphy USA El Dorado Shootout as well as the Men’s Sunbelt Collegiate Championship.
