Checking in with: ROLLINGSTONE RANCH GOLF CLUB

PURE GOLF IN THE ROCKY MOUNTAINS OF COLORADO

For golfers and fun-seekers, there’s no better time than summer to visit Colorado’s Rocky Mountains, and in particular Rollingstone Ranch Golf Club and Sheraton Steamboat Resort Villas.

Located roughly three hours northwest of Denver, guests will find an 18-hole gem of a course designed by Robert Trent Jones II that features incredible views of the Yampa Valley, while Fish Creek winds its way through seven of the holes.

Opened in 1974, the course has received multiple awards, including being named among the “Best Places to Play in Colorado” by Golf Digest, and “Best Mountain Resort Course” by Colorado AvidGolfer. Mature aspen and evergreen trees shape the majority of holes on this scenic, 150-acre layout, serving to enhance a truly pristine setting.

Standout holes include No. 14, a par 3 with its tee shot over Fish Creek; and No. 17, which features panoramic views of Yampa Valley and Flat Top Mountains.

After a round, a stop at the on-site Fish Creek Grille yields traditional American cuisine for lunch, with memorable views of the golf course and charming Yampa Valley from the second level outdoor patio.

For accommodations, the Sheraton Steamboat Resort Villas offers a total of 201 vacation villas and guestrooms, with floor plans ranging from comfortable studios to expansive four-bedroom lockoff villas. Five hot tubs, a pool, and an exercise facility are also available at the resort.

Recent renovations delivered significant upgrades to the property, including an open lobby area, an expansion of the Rocky Mountain Day Spa, a new lounge and market, and upgrades to all villas and guestrooms. The resort also now features a deck with four fireplaces, and a bar facing large windows with spectacular views of the Steamboat Springs mountain base. Formerly a hotel conference center, the property fully transitioned to vacation ownership in 2018.

In addition to golf, the area offers unlimited fun with fly-fishing, mountain hiking, and biking, and exploration the entire family will enjoy.

After a rocky summer of quarantine in 2020, make 2021 your Rocky Mountain summer of adventure and great golf!
